The Plan! In essence, I want to build an online open-source platform (OAIG for Open Automated Item Generation) that will allow researchers to create tests using R or Python code for image creation related to their test items.

Occlusion Update

Dr. Vinay Patel completed a study (congratulations!!) which examined his idea that occlusion could be an item radical in SMMRT using a sample from Prolific.com that resulted in some pretty messy data.

Rainbow stacks

Worked on a color version of the smaig stacks in order to test using them in calculating occlusion on a cube-by-cube basis. This required eliminating the 3D effect on the surface in order to only count 1 color per cube.

Imager Update

I continued to tweak the code (and actually got it to work properly). After a brief break from the project, I realized how difficult it was to follow the code without extensive commenting… so, the updated code is extensively commented - at least from my perspective.

Using the imager package in R to measure occlusion in SMAIG image

I’ve been playing with the imager package in r to count pixels according to color code. Pretty straightforward so far, other than a bit of a learning curve to “understand” the structure of the image files.
